  • June 2019

    Sharks got us today 
    We got 4 and they got 10
    This is crazy

    6/28 Allen and family were a lot of fun to fish with 
    Was a little slow but did manage some good eats

    Brayden almost had the World Record his fish weighed 248 pounds the current jr record is 236 but we had to pass the rod down from the bridge which disqualified it
    Still a great catch for a 14 year old

    6/24 Meat Slam
    2 Big Eyes 
    1 Mahi 
    1 Wahoo 90 pounds 
    We lost 2 Yellowfins to the sharks

    6/23 Graham and crew had a good day 
    2 Big Eyes and 1 Yellowfin

    6/16 Tory and group had a great catch of Mahi and a 145 pound Big Eye

    6/11 Allen and crew had a limit of Mahi before the wind picked up
    Back at the dock by 12:30

    6/10 The weatherman was wrong again 
    Little bumpy today 
    Still got 28 Mahi by 9:30

    6/9 Chad and crew went 3 for 5 in Big Eyes and sent us home

    6/8 Andy and crew had their hands full with Big Eyes

    6/7 Bob and crew got 2 nice Big Eyes 
    Biggest being 177 pounds

    6/5 Dads day out!
    Morgen and family had a great trip
    1 st stop was 44 Mahi and then off to try to catch a Big Eye
    Within an hour of tuna fishing they had a 145 pound Big Eye 
    Love when a plan comes together

    6/4 a great day with Andy and crew Mahi fishing is still off the hook

    6/1 Here are some pictures from the last couple of trips
    Today we also caught our 1st White Marlin of the year

    5/31 The sharks won today eating 5 more of our Tunas 
    Then on the ride home Mother Nature got made at us

    5/30 it was tuff fishing today 
    But we did manage a catch

    Every Memorial Day we have the honor of fishing with Combat Warriors 
    This year we had the army 
    Great group of guys 
    Each one got to catch a Big Eye Tuna plus 1 extra

    5/26 Matt and crew had some awesome Mahi fish

    5/25 Justin and crew had a nice catch of Mahi

    5/23 The Mahi fishing is the best we have seen in a long time!

    5/21 Jon and the the guys had a blast. They caught all the fish they wanted and attempted gaffing their own fish which was a funny to watch

    5/20 Harvey and crew want meat, so that’s what we did 
    Great fishing

    5/19 Jim and the family had a great day!
    29 Mahi and 18 Tilefish

    5/18 The Mahi fishing was off the hook! Also got 1 Tuna away from the sharks

    5/17 Kirk and crew touched it out and caught 27 Mahi 
    We ended the day at 10:30 because it was rough

    5/16 Chuck and crew are always a lot of fun to fish with

    5/14 Well the sharks won this battle 
    We were only able to land 1 Tuna and the sharks eat the other 10 we hooked 
    We finally gave up and came home early

    5/13 Mahi fishing again today 
    End up with 20
    Waiting for the tuna to start biting again

    5/11 Jeff and crew got what they wanted MAHI 
    It was a fun day with a slow start and then the Mahi started biting

    5/8 I think the sharks got the best of us today 
    We had 9 sharks on at 1 time
    5/7 the Tunas are starting to bite finally

    5/5 Great group of guys! Fishing was a little slow for us. But managed to catch some Mahi and have fun

    5/4 Manny and Christine has a busy day 
    28 Mahi!

    5/3 Mike and the guys had a great day!

    5/2 Tuna fishing was slow today 
    Managed to get some good eats

    4/15 It was a little rough but the boys hung in there and caught their 1st Tunas

    4/11 The day started out slow but got better as the day went on
    Ended up with 12 Tuna and 3 Mahi

    4/7 after a couple weeks off 
    Mike and crew caught some Tuna 
    It was one of those days where I should have turned left instead of right

    3/18 we started out looking for a Bluefin and ended up having a nice catch of Yellowfins 

    Mark and gang were a lot of fun

    3/15
    Jim and group fish with us
    Caught 3 Yellowfins and 1 Wahoo 
    Marked the Bluefins but they just would not bite

    3/13 No Bluefins today but we did catch 4 nice Yellowfins

     3/9 Released 1 Bluefin and kept 1 Yellowfin for Dinner. Great group of guys for the last 2 days.

    3/8 got to keep a short 71” today 
    Still waiting on a big one

    3/3 Had ad Rich Balot and crew
    Released 3 Giant Bluefin Tuna and caught 1 Big Eye Tuna 
    Great fishing

    This winter we are giving the boat a face lift. New teak covering boards and complete paint. We will be back up and fishing 2/25/19.

    Spring dates are filling up fast. Do not delay boat your fishing trip soon!

    10/23 Ok so no tuna the water changed overnight 
    So we caught a limit of Mahi 
    This was our last trip for 2018
    Now off to the boat yard for a complete paint job and new teak covering boards

    10/19 David and family had a lot of action 
    Blackfin Tuna is on the menu

    10/13 Had Darius and crew today 
    Caught 5 Blackfins and 1 Wahoo

    As Fall sets in we are still seeing GREAT catches of Marlin.
    Also Tuna are starting to show up. There have been limits caught then the next day you catch a couple.
    BEST Marlin fishing this year.

    13 White Marlin and 1 Blue Marlin.

    We only have a couple more weeks of fishing this year.

    We will be out of the water from 10/31 to 2/15.

    Bluefin Tuna season-
    We will start fishing for the Gaint Bluefin Tuna starting 2/25/19
    We are already booking trips for this EPIC fisheries.
    Last year we caught the NEW State record Bluefin, weighting in at 877 pounds.

    Spring fishing-
    Last year we had Great Yellowfin and Mahi fishing from late April thru June.
    Like last year we will be booked everyday.
    DO NOT WAIT! Book now.

    We are also currently open for the Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament in early June.

    9/29 Chris and the boys had a great Mahi catch and 1 White Marlin

    9/23 They were biting today
    Greg,Ashton and Tom were worn out 
    We end up with 1 Blue Marlin and 13 White Marlin 
    We went threw 100 baits with Mahi and Bonita bites 
    Non stop action

    9/22 Matt and crew had a great Mahi catch and 2 White Marlin

    9/12 the marina is empty 
    Looks like storm may go south of us

    9/10 Due to the hurricane swell we are done fishing this week 
    We will dry dock the Wednesday and wait out the storm

    9/9 Jon and crew stuck it out today and caught 50 Mahi and 1 White Marlin

    9/8 Had Paul and crew today 
    Had a great time 
    Limit of Mahi, 2 Sailfish and White Marlin

    Day 2 and the final day
    Caught 1 Whites
    Not in the money but had a great time

    Day 1 of 2 at the VA Beach Tournament 
    Caught 3 out of 5 White Marlin

    Can't believe the end of summer is getting close.
    It has been a busy year on the A-Salt Weapon.
    On Wednesday we headed up to Virginia Beach for their tournament.
    We will be fishing out of NC until 11/1 then going to the boat year for paint job.

    Marlin Fishing-
    We have some PRIME dates open
    Sept 3,4,5,6,7,10,11,12

    Oct-
    We will be fishing for Tuna,Wahoo and Mahi.

    2019
    We are already taking booking for next year.

    Bluefin Tuna - end of Feb to April 10

    Yellowfin Tuna and Mahi- April 15 to June 30
    May and June are already filling up!

    Marlin and Mahi - July to Sept 15

    Tournaments-
    We have the Big Rock and the White Marlin open.

    8/19 Wind has us tied to the dock today.
    We have some dates open for Marlin fishing 
    Sept. 3,4,5,6,7,10,11,12

    8/17 took our Tournament group out meat fishing today for a 1/2 day trip
    We did not do very good on the marlin but meat fishing was very good

    8/15 Day 2 was better releasing 2 out 3 White Marlin

    8/14 Day one was a bust for us. hooked 1 White Marlin and jump him off. Here comes day 2

    8/14 Here we go! Day 1 of the Pirates Cove Tournament.

    8/12 Fun was had by the girls at the Alice Kelly tournament

    8/10 Had Tab and family 
    Great Tilefish fishing 
    Austin also released a Tiger Shark

    8/9 Mike and crew for some Tilefish

    8/8 Had Jim and Grant again today 
    No Marlins today

    8/7 Fished with Eric and Matt 
    Eric caught his 1st White Marlin 
    Also caught some Tilefish for dinner

    8/6 Had Jim and Grant today 
    Caught 4 White Marlin and 3 Mahi

    8/4 Had Jim and crew today 
    They wanted some meat fish today 
    So we caught a limit of Tilefish and a nice Wahoo

    8/3 Had Jason and crew today 
    Too much SW wind has slowed the fishing down
    We did manage a limit of Tilefish and 1 Yellowfin Tuna
